Data is now a key business asset, and it’s revolutionising the way companies operate, across most sectors and industries. And if every business is a data business, data needs to be protected.
Reason for data backup:
The main reason for data backup is to save important files if a system crash or hard drive failure occurs. There should be additional data backups if the original backups result in natural disasters, cyber attacks, data corruption, human errors, hard disk or hard drive failure.
Netplus provides different types of data backups:
- Hybrid Cloud Backup
- Image Based Backup
Hybrid Cloud Backup
A hybrid backup solution is the combination of on-premise NAS devices that act as local backup targets and have enough space to hold several, full backups, which then execute background synchronization of the backup data to an external cloud service. If you need to restore data from a recent backup, it can be accessed quickly as the data is readily available on-site in the NAS. Hybrid backup promises to solve the scaling issues of on-site backup systems, and the latency issues of cloud-only backup solutions. In Hybrid systems, the backed up data is replicated directly to the public cloud providers.
Image Based Backup
Image-based backup is the practice of backing up an entire storage media by creating an “image” of the disk or drive. This backup solution, which is popular in many enterprise systems, involves cloning the whole storage media or an operating system partition instead of backing up individual files.
